Having been a market leader in the home building and design industry for 14 years, we wanted to create something special to take our offerings from ‘great’ to ‘out of this world’! Our director Peter Worthy had a vision, the passion and a 1950s bungalow on a big plot of land! In the Autumn of 2016 Smarthomes embarked on a project of their own creating a show house of dreams! A contemporary, energy- efficient, passive house that would emphasize everything that Smarthomes stands for!
With the help of BWP architects in Farnham, the plans were drawn and it was time for action! A timber frame was erected in 5 weeks and the project was evolving day by day. Our in-house design team put together a spectacular lighting design to accommodate each rooms needs; then with the lights in place an audio design was created working ceiling speakers in to every room. Peter project managed the build himself organising a team of tradesmen and of course our very own Smarthomes engineers. By May 2017 it was complete!
The intelligence of the show house is clear as both clients and guests arrive. At the gate there is an entry system. A keypad for those who know the code, and an integrated intercom and camera system between the house and the gate for those who don’t. The front door has an electronic release system and can be locked and unlocked remotely.
Upon entering you soon realise that the show house is something truly unique. The light switches are replaced with lighting control keypads, each engraved with their particular function and there is ONE interface to control the heating, lighting, music, TV, blinds, alarm, cctv and the alarm system. The house also has a 4K Dolby Atmos Cinema, with retractable screen.
The house has been tied together with the most exquisite interiors, from furniture to soft furnishings, curtains to blinds, all designed and installed by our in- house design team.
